This guide is intended to give easy instructions for anyone looking to replace the 72 pin in an original Nintendo Nes.  It's a very effective way to get your old system up a running.  All you need is a phillips head screwdriver, a new 72 pin, some cleaning solution and your time.  If you find this guide helpful please remember to vote yes!

If your Nintendo does not power on, then the pin is not your problem (in case you didn't know so you don't go through this process only to find out it still doesn't work).

To replace your pin:

1.  Flip your Nintendo over and remove the 6 screws that are there.

2. Take the lid off your cosole.

3. Unscrew the metal plate that is covering the game tray.

4. Remove the 6 screws holding down the game tray (remember to keep the 2 longer screws seperate so you put them back in the right place).

5. Slide off the old pin.

6. At this point I always remove the 2 screws near where the power cord are so that you can lift the board out and clean everything.  Don't get the board wet.

7. Slide on the new pin.

8. Put everything back together and you'll be all set to play!  Do yourself a favor and check that your tray goes up and down before you put the metal piece on top.  If you have the front 2 screws to tight the tray might not open and close 9just loosen the screws a bit).

Once you have the whole system back together check your tray again.  If you screw the middle front screw to tight it can keep the tray from opening and closing (again just loosen that screw slightly).  The whole process should take you 1-2 hours depending on how handy you are.  Enjoy your gaming and be sure to vote yes if this guide helped you!
