I want to share the procedures I took to remove the cylinder on my old motocross bike.

1 remove the seat using a 12mm socket, there are 2 bolts. The seat will come off along with the rear fender.

2 remove the side panels using a 10 mm scoket there should be 4 bolts

3 remove the air dams from the radiator using an 8mm socket, there should be 4 bolts

4 drain the antifreeze from the bike using a 10 mm socket, the drain plug is located under the waterpump housing on the right side of the bike

5 remove the upper hose from the head only, use a flat head screwdriver

6 remove the radiator support nuts from the frame using a 10mm socket

7 remove the tail of the exaust from the bike first using a 12mm socket for the hanger and then a needle nose plyers to remove the spring from the exaust main pipe

8 remove the exaust main pipe from the head using needle nose plyers for the springs that attach from the exaust to the exaust port on the head.

9 remove the lower radiator hose from the waterpump side only using a flathead screwdriver.

10 remove the radiator out through the right side of the bike.

11 remove the spark plug wire

12 remove the carb from the intake mainfold by using a tiny phillips head screw driver and then pushing the carb back into the air box a bit

13 remove the 4 12mm nuts from the base of the cylinder using an open wrench

14 take a rubber mallet and hit the cylinder from all angles lightly, I also grab the cyl with a rubber sheet and rock it in a circle with upward force

You should have the cylinder removed at this point.

remember to never pry the cylinder off using anything against the engine cases or your repair will grow
