MY DREAM WEDDING!
We've all been dreaming of this day since we were little girls. Remember digging through your moms closet and hoping to find a frilly dress and a pair of beautiful shinny shoes and looking in the mirror just imagining what your wedding dress would look like, of course back then we weren't thinking what the man would look like.lol
You've heard of all those horrific wedding stories. You know the ones i'm talking about, where the wedding invitations don't get sent out, the cake falls, the preachers suit catches on fire(yeah, i know.lol), the caterer doesn't bring what you ordered. It happens to alot of brides-to-be, but DON'T LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU! I'm going to tell you step by step what you need to do to have the perfect wedding you've dreamed of without all the drama.
Step #1
First and foremost talk with your soon to be husband and pick the date. Please keep in mind that this date should be made by you and your fiance ONLY! To make the day even more special keep in mind any dates that are special to you and him, for example: the month and day you first met, the day he proposed, any date that is special for the both of you. Do keep in mind when picking this date any other events that may have happened around this date that would disrupt the happiness of this day, for example: a death in the family, birthdays, holidays, a previous wedding day(if this is not your first).
Step #2
You and your fiance pick 4 days to look at wedding rings. This should be done immediately after completing Step #1. Each day go to a different jeweler, this way you will have a variety of rings to choose from. On the day you go, make it a whole day for just the two of you. Have a nice dinner or lunch together then go shop for the ring. DO NOT shop for other items when doing this. This day is for ring shopping only! Pick one ring from each place you shop, ask the jeweler if you can take a picture of the ring, then when you have all the rings picked out take one day to look at the rings together and choose the rings you want. This again should only be done with the bride and groom. Main reason for doing this step so early is you have plenty of time to get the rings you want, and the ring you have always dreamed of. Remember you will be wearing this till death do you part.
Step #3
Now its time to tell the family. You'll be so glad that you have the most important items out of the way, because they will be asking all kinds of questions now and you won't have time to think. The Bride-to-be should invite the people she wants to be in her bridal party to a dinner. That way you can talk about colors for the wedding, where the wedding should be, ideas for catering and cakes, and entertainment. Make it a very informal dinner and take notes. This is a good time to designate DEPENDABLE people to take more weight off your shoulders, by having them find the caterers, entertainment and etc. Make sure to get phone numbers if you don't have them and follow up the people at least once a week to discuss their progress on the findings. This is very important that you stay on top of it, because remember this is your wedding and not theirs and alot of people like to procrastinate. Pick a few days that are good for everyone and make it a DRESS ONLY DAY! On these days you and your brides maids and anyone else you want to invite will go looking for the perfect wedding dress and gowns for the brides maids. Again this is a girls day out only! Have fun with it! It only happens once.
Step #4
Once you have all the details; where, when, time, colors, entertainment, cake, caterers, etc. sit down with your fiance and go through it with him, just in case there needs to be any adjustments made. Usually the guys don't care, but occasionally you'll have one that wants to know everything. He is just as much a part of this day as you are.
Step #5
About 3 months before the wedding day, contact the place where you will having it, the entertainment people, the cake lady, the caterers, etc. to be sure that everything is in place for your special day. This will give you plently of time to make any corrections that may be needed and make sure that everyone understands their role in YOUR wedding!
Step #6
The night before your wedding day, be sure to get plently of rest so you will be refreshed and vibrant. This is one of the most important steps because not only do you have a long day ahead of you, but you also want to look just like you always dreamed you would.
By following these 6 steps you will be GUARUNTEED the perfect wedding you always dreamed of. Of course there will always be the possibility of some things that may go wrong, but by following these steps you will greatly reduce the risk of any, if not all, disruptions to your DREAM WEDDING! GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES.
