Windows can be a focal point in any room. That's why we call the things you hang on them Window treatments. We want to treat the window well! The treatment you choose can set the style for the room. So how do you choose well? It's simple, just answer these questions.
1. What do you want from the treatments?
a. Privacy? (Blinds, Pinch Pleats, Panels b. Insulation from light or sound?( Lined Pinch Pleats, Lined roman shades.) c. An accent to your style? ( Sheers, shades, Swags, Jabots, Box pleats. ect. d. Just a basic covering?( Mini blinds, panels, sheers.)
2. What is the style of your room? a. contempary b. traditional c. victorian d. modern e. ecclectict f. country ect.
3. How large is your room? a. a large room can support large treatments. b. a small room should have smaller treatments.
4. What kind of window trim do you have? a. If your trim is something you want to show off, you may want a treatment to set inside the window. If not you may want to hang the treatment on the outside of the window frame. ( A beautiful trim design should be complimented not covered.)
5. Do you want your treatments to remain stationary or do you need functional treatments.
6. How much can you spend?
7. Can you make them yourself?( the fabric shops have patterns that even a novice can handle in an our or so.) or will you buy them?
