Hello fellow Ebay'er and welcome to my "How to pack LP records in two Priority Mail boxes" guide. As a long time record seller this method of packing has saved me money on boxes and I've never had a record get there broken. And you can easily fit in up to four LP's.

You start with two Priority Mail boxes, a number 0-1097 [11.25 x 13 x 2.25] which will become the small "inside sleeve" and a # 0-1095 [12.25 x 15.50 x 3] which becomes the large "outside box"

The secret is that you don't open them and make them into boxes, you keep them flat. First you have to prepare the boxes. Place one box on a table with the label side face down. The boxes have four flaps on either side, two long and two short, that you would normally use to make the ends of the box. One of the long flaps on each side will have adhesive and this one should be on the bottom.

First you fold up the long flaps WITHOUT the adhesive and tape or staple them down.

I use an ARROW P-22 hand stapler but you can use tape. Do this to both sides on both boxes. If you did it right you should have three layers of cardboard on the two sides that open.

You now place the record [wrapped in something] in the smaller box and flip up the flats with the glue and glue them in place. The small box should now be four layer thick on the "flap" sides.

Now comes the fun part. Turn the small box with the record in it OVER and rotate it 1/4 turn either way. The four sided ends should now be at 6 and 12 o'clock. You then insert the small box into the large one.

You'll have to hold the two little flaps that don't have glue down as you insert it. Now do the same thing with the flaps on the outside box as you did on the small box but also reinforce the flaps with tape. If you did it right you will have a very strong and stiff box with eight layers of cardboard on two sides and four on the other two plus two layers going in difference directions across the middle. Any question? Email me.

And check out my other guides -- "How to pack 45 RPM records in a Priority Mail box" and "How to pack & ship records without a box - Really"  and watch for my next one -- "Why ABBA, as a group, is the anti you-know-what and should be destroyed".. OK, that was a joke.
