I have been selling lingerie for over 9 years now, and the one thing I have learned is most women do not know their correct bra size.
Reason One: We don't know how to measure for the correct size.
Reason Two: Different brands fit differently. (this is what I am told).
Reason Three: No one has ever told us we had to measure to get the proper size.
If you see who the maker is you will find that a lot of different brands are made by the same company. ie. Vanity Fair also makes Lilyette, Vassarette, etc. If you look at the size tag you will see a VF in a colored circle, this means this item is made by Vanity Fair, and therefore should have the same size and fit.
Bali is made by Sara Lee. Other brands include: Hanes, Playtex, Just My Size, Barely There, Lovable, etc.
Now to Measure your size: take a cloth measuring tape, measure around your chest under your breast, add 5" to this number. This will give you the band size.
Example: 33" plus 5" = 38"
Now measure the inside of the breast to the tip.
1" = A cup
2" = B cup
3" = C cup
4" = D cup
5" = DD cup
Example: 38" and 4" = 38D
If you measure 1/2"s- round up. Playtex now has 1/2 sizes for smaller women that don't fit the full size cup. These will be a Nearly A, Nearly B, Nearly C size.
Sometimes you can change the size according to the style of bra. You can go up or down on the size.
If you go up on the band size, go down on the cup size.
If you go down on the band size go up on the cup size.
Example: up on band size 36D = 38C OR 38D = 40C
down on band size 36B = 34C OR 36C = 34D
I HOPE THIS INFORMATION WILL BE HELPFUL TO MANY WOMEN THAT BEFORE THIS DID NOT KNOW HOW TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT SIZE. I KNOW IT HAS BEEN HELPFUL FOR ME AND MY CUSTOMERS.
