I'm often asked "How do you make money selling used children's clothing on Ebay?" Well, it's simple, most parents like to dress their children in cute clothing but don't want to spend a fortune to do so.
Children grow so quickly and usually aren't in an outfit long enough to justify spending $65.00 on a pair of jeans and $20.00 on a shirt. In turn this means that often a garment is worn a handful of times before it's too small. I've found items in my girls' closets that still have the tags intact because they've outgrown it before they had time to wear it.
So, the question is what do you do with this outgrown, nearly new clothing? Sure, you can always donate it or with a little know how you can list it on Ebay. Naturally name brands do well, but I've found that even a large lot of play clothing can sell for top dollar. After all who wants to dig deep into their pockets for new clothing that will only be worn outside to play in?
Of course there are tips and tricks to the madness behind my method of selling on Ebay. I have learned A LOT about how to take pictures, use backgrounds, the best time to sell, etc...on Here Comes the Stork. Click on this link to get more information about this group on my About Me page:

I use black and white posterboard as my backgrounds. It's a cheap solution and clean. The best thing about it is it highlights the item you are selling rather than a dirty floor, table, couch, etc... You may be the cleanest person on Earth but there's no way to surmise that from a picture alone.
As much as possible, I like to sell outfits rather than single pieces. I may not be fortunate enough to find complete sets but even matching pieces from different manufacturers usually yields more money than a single pair of pants or top. However, I have bought many single items on Ebay to match existing pieces that my daughter's already have in their closets.
I'm a big fan of Seller Sourcebook templates. They make auctions look professional and tell me that the seller cares enough to take the time to prepare their auctions. If you are interested in checking out what they have to offer click below for information found on my About Me Page:
