My name is Kathy Smith, I create beautiful household objects made from Seashells and Coral. I like to call it Shell Art or Shabby Chic Beach Decor!!
To get that Palm Beach Chic feel in your own home you need plenty of Seashells, Coral and don't forget the Palm trees!
If you want to make your own Shell Art, start with an idea ,a color palette and a little spare time and get to work! Once you decide what you are going to create get yourself a nice relaxing area with a work table, good lighting, put on a little mood music, (maybe Jimmy Buffet) and go for it! Don't worry if it doesn't come out perfect, just Enjoy yourself and you might surprise yourself!!

To create a beautiful seashell mirror, first decide on the size. You might want to start off small till you get the hang of it. I like to find a nice metal mirror pre-painted and work off that. Decide what shells you want to use, you will need a good assortment of seashells before you get started. A few nice size shells to be a center focal point, medium shells, small & tiny ones also. Work with a color palette, maybe two or three colors. Also texture is important, to create visual interest choose shells that reflect light well. Try to arrange the shells in a pattern before your get started, so you have some idea of what you are aiming for, but anything goes! Be careful of the HOT glue, don't use too much! If you do just cover it up with another tiny shell. Remember its your Vision, your Creativity, your Imagination and your Design!!
Just Remember to have FUN!!
