Not all items advertised as LEGO are true Lego brand products. There are ways to tell if you are buying a true Lego brand product by the pictures and in some cases you can identify Lego brand figures that way. There are times you must hold the product to know if it is truly a Lego brand product, so make certain you have read the return policy before purchase. That way you know if you find you have not recieved a real Lego brand item, as you intended, you may return it.

If there are photos of the front, back and/or sides of the box you will look for the LEGO logo. It is a red square with the word LEGO in white letters. The LEGO logo is printed on the front, back and all sides of the box. The appropriate age of the user is printed on the front of the box under the logo.

When looking at the photo look for the unopened box  you can see the LEGO logo and know you have a Lego brand product.

If you are buying a bulk lot, loose pieces of Lego bricks in a large open box, or an assembled piece - custom or modified, read the description. It may state all Lego bricks or non-lego pieces included. Even then you want to make certain you are buying real Lego brand bricks if that is the description.

Photos sometimes show enough detail to know the product is a real Lego brand item but othertimes the picture can not show that amount of detail.  When you look at the picture see if it looks like other Lego items/bricks you are familiar with. If the bricks look larger or very different then the bricks looked when you researched them, they may be a competitive brick, not a Lego brand brick. All LEGO brand bricks have the word Lego, stamped very small, on them. You must look closely and turn it in every direction to the find the Lego word printed on each piece.

There are great competitive bricks and sets that will work with your LEGO brand sets and items. Be certain you know what you are buying! When the listings states LEGO then you should expect Lego brand bricks and not a substitute, lower value item.

An informed shopper always has the best shopping experience!
