I just recently had my account hijacked and I wanted to share how this hacker got into my ebay account and listed 258 auctions.  The hacker listed them for 24 hours auctions and all were listed for $57.00!!  The hacker actually had their own paypal account in hoping they get the money!!  Here is some example of the listing:

190095010967 Rockford Fosgate® T30001bd 3000W x 1 Car Amplifier
190095010983 Roland Fantom X6 61-Key Sampling Workstation Keyboard
190095010993 Roland Fantom X8
190095011001 Roland RD 700 Keyboard RD-700 Prof 88 Key Piano
190095011017 Roland TD-20S-BK V-Pro Electronic Drum Set
190095011029 Roland TD20S-WT V-Pro Electronic Drum Set
190095011039 SAMSUNG HP-R6372 HPR6372 63" HDTV PLASMA TV

There is several ways that hacker can hijacked your ebay and paypal account.

1.  You may get a email from follow ebayer.  The ebay user name will be real but the email will be fake.  Most of times I will see something that will asked me how much shipping is and majority of the times it is from another country.  The hacker get your password because you think it is a real ebay message email and you click on response.  It will asked for your password like it normally does and after hitting enter, it will take you to a page that have dvd or books listing.  It will have message that something is wrong!  If you get that page, quickly change your password.  I realized what happen when I look up and see what the www address and discover it was not ebay!! Also found out it was not in ebay My Message. How do you protect yourself from this?  When you click on response, look up and see what the www address.  You should know your www address for ebay sign-in.  If it not ebay, then do not enter password.

2.  Some hacker are very slick!  Here the one that fool me.  Some hacker will actually use ebay to contact seller.  They will find your auction that is ending in less than 5 minutes and contact you.  Hacker will say, "I want to know fast if it's the same item: (web address) Mail me back soon because i'm ready to buy it now."  When you get this email thru ebay, you should not be in quick mode but alert mode.  This was my mistake.  I didn't stop, think and say to myself wait minute and to be alert.  When you are in quick mode, you are not thinking right until you already made the mistake. This email was in both my regular email and in my messages in ebay.

3.  Paypal never email you with a link to log in.  You must bring up the website yourself.

4.  Paypal and Ebay account should never have the same password.

5.  Know Ebay sign-in website address and always look to see if it is the correct website address.

6. Let Ebay or Paypal know about the fraud email.

7.  Fellow Blog friend told me never list new auction while I am watching my auction end.  This will cause you not to be in an alert mode. As it happen to me!

I hope this help you to protect your Ebay and Paypal account.
