Although my previous guide addressing what to do when Paper Punches stick was not overwhelmingly popular, I wanted to share an additional Paper Punch TIP with those who were interested. This one is fairly new to me, as well.
OK...so, now you know how to handle a Pesky Paper Punch that sticks...if you are an avid scrapbooker, you probably have experienced a Paper Punch that does not thoroughly cut through the paper. Often, the effect is the same for both problems: you are left with a useless cut-out, the paper wrinkled, ripped, or with unclean edges. Well, throw your frustrations to the wind because here is the answer to solve the problem of a Paper Punch that has become dull!
Just as simple and remedied with a every day household product! I learned this at a Scrapbooking/Rubber Stamp class and couldn't wait to share it with other Ebayers as a follow-up to my previous Guide. HERE IT GOES...
Find a piece of the finest sandpaper you have available (I prefer to use 400 or higher, if available)! Keep the sandpaper flat and use itjust as you were using paper for a die-cut punch! I found that punching 3 times is sufficient and the Paper Punch immediately is repaired! If you use a lower grit sandpaper, I would recommend punching one sandpaper and trying a regular craft paper after each sandpaper punch. The edges are softer than you think and it would be easy to distort the edges of your punch if the sandpaper is too rough. For intricate punches, I would recommend not trying any grit lower than 400. Again, I prefer an even finer sandpaper than 400 and won't use anything courser.
I hope some of you can fine tune your paper crafting skills and use this Guide to save you time and peace of mind!
