How to get UNLIMITED FREE SUPER-STRONG PACKING CARTONS
Every community has a great resource, no matter how small your town.
If you, like us, like to pack your buyers orders with the BEST available packing materials and need strong cartons, there is a great resource you may never have thought of.
Your local grocery store.
You can help solve their problem while solving your own and helping protect the environment. By re-using perfectly good cartons, you are helping protect the environment. Even if the store sent their empty cartons to a recycling plant, they still have to be made again and that takes a lot of enery. If you want to be a GREEN SELLER, environmentally green, this is one sure way to help the environment!
They have many cartons they have to dispose of every day. And it cost them BIG BUCKS to have them hauled away. If you speak to the store manager, you will find they are very happy to have you take as many cartons as you would like.
The trick is to find out the BEST time to come. it is ALL about timing. Rather than guessing on your own, the manager can pinpoint that time for you. For our local grocery store, unfortunately that best time is 5:15 am. By getting there at 5:15 am I have the pick of ANY cartons I want, ranging from tiny cosmetics cartons all the way up to GIANT egg cartons or paper towel cartons or cereal cartons. For our especially large orders, we love cereal cartons as they have extra thick walls.
We pride ourselves on getting our packages safely and securely to our buyers and this is a great resource.
By working closely with your local store manager, you will find you are doing them a favor while doing yourself a favor and it sure beats DUMPSTER diving or having to guess what time you should come to the store.
Plus if you have resorted to dumpster diving, you know how disgusting that can be, as well as embarrassing, should someone you know come along. Can you imagine someone seeing you climb into the dumpster or climbing out of the dumpster? I don't know which would be worse. I guess climbing in, because at least if you are climbing out with cartons, they MIGHT believe why you were in there in the first place. :-)
Anyway, even though we have lots of merchandise coming in in nice cartons, inevitably, we often need bigger or smaller cartons than we have in house, so this is a great resource.
No need to buy expensive cartons........have you ever bought cartons, they can easily cost you a few dollars apiece. For some of our speciality items, we have no choice, for example on our umbrellas, as there really are no suitable cartons in the grocery store, but for MOST of our items, we can find everything we need in the way of FREE cartons in our local grocery store.
