Getting the internet to work on any UNLOCKED iPhone is simple and easy. Below I have listed a step by step process on how to get this done:
First make sure you have data service as a feature on your cell phone plan, if not, you must contact T-Mobile's customer service at 1 (800)-TMOBILE and have it added. Once this is confirmed turn on your iPhone and lets begin:
1. Go to SETTINGS->GENERAL->NETWORK->CELLULAR DATA NETWORK-> Under APN type in internet2.voicestream.com. Then press the NETWORK button at the top of the screen and turn DATA ROAMING on. You should see and "E" up at the top of the screen to indicate internet is working.
3. Contact TMOBILE's customer service once more (I recommend from a phone other then your iPhone) and have them transfer you to the PDA SUPPORT TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT. Once you have reached somebody there, tell them you would like to be taken off the network and put back on to reset all the settings. Keep them on the phone while you complete the next step (I'll explain why in a sec).
2. Powercycle your iPhone. Once returned to the home screen open the Safari browser and serf to your favorite website.
TROUBLESHOOTING
What is briliant about T-Mobile customer service is they actually support this phone even through it is not a model they offer in the stores. If your internet is not working, and you have followed my direction, you still have a technichian on the line to help you. They will work with you thourghly until the problem if completed. In most cases if your internet is not working it is due to the settings they have set on your account.
