Personalized first name prints make wonderful inexpensive gifts for friends and family. They have been given on Birthdays, Christenings, Weddings, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Vetrans Day, Christmas, Kwanza, Secretarys Day and other occassions.
There are a few things to keep in mind when searching out all the options available on EBay.
1.) What type of paper is used for the print? First and foremost the paper stock that is used for a print is important. You don't want your present turning yellow in a year! Find out if the seller is using an acid free paper, this will prevent the paper from yellowing for usually up to 75 years.
2.) Is the paper standard printer paper or a heavier stock? Standard printer paper does not hang well in frames, it will begin to wrinkle as gravity pulls on it unless it is firmly backed. The medium weight papers (28 LB) or heavier do much better when framed.
3.) Is the print framed or unframed? This is the single most expensive part of a name print. Have you gone out and priced frames recently? If your print comes without a frame then it will be an added cost you have to look at along with additional time before your print is ready to be given as a gift.
4.) Is the name you wish to use very uncommon? Now a days people are creating first names for their children which have no history, or are from dead languages. A lot of the bulk printers will just "wing it" and fake a print and history for the name. Caring designers will ask for your inputs and work with you to get as much history on the name as possible and the characteristics of the person it is for before they even print a word.
5.) How is the print packaged? If the print is unframed, find out how it will be packaged. When a print is just placed in an envelope with no sturdy material it will be bent or wrinkled when you get it.
These pictures are just a few of the options that are available out there. Most sellers have too many paper types to show in their listing. If you're looking for a certian design on the paper then search the EBay stores or the about me pages where the seller can show their wares. The above photos are some of what I have available, but I don't sell them very often on EBay as most of my business is on a more personal level with questions going back and forth between the buyer and I.
I hope this helps! Good Luck!!!!
