Now that you know how to knit, why not design your own knitting projects. It is pretty simple, here is how: Let's say you want to make a pillow, for that, you need to decide what type of yarn you want to use and choose the colors and the pattern/stitches you want to use. Now you need to know how big you want your project to be, for that you will have to figure out how many stitches to cast on.For example,if you use a worsted weight yarn with a gauge of 15 sts=4"/10cm in Sts st with size US#8 knitting needles and you want your pillow to fit in a 16" x 16" pillow form, you would have to use 61 sts to cast on,depending on how your gauge works out, you might have to add or subtract some sts. Now you need to decide which stitches you are using, how do you want your pattern to look like? A simple stripe with knit & purl sts, or a more colorful where you use intarsia or duplicate sts, the sky is the limit at this point. Once you have a visual design in your mind, make sure to write notes,or draw a sketch. Now it's time to knit! Are you done yet? Cool! Look what you have created!! "Beautiful" , "what you made this?", your friends might ask, I want one too.....
See, it is easy, just give a try, I did too, and now I have my own line of patterns which are sold on ebay and on my website!!
