Step 1:
Come up with a name. Whether it’s for a business you’re creating or just to market yourself, come up with something snappy to grab attention. Consider using your initials, or the initials of your partners, or a word that means something special to the business. Play off of that to create something that’s memorable.
Step 2:
Find a simple design. If you’re looking for something temporary, don’t get too fancy. If your business grows, hire a graphic artist to design a logo. But why spend the time when you’re just starting out. Mix a couple of fonts or make a border, but try to stick with one color or two at the most. Consider that every time you add a color or a border, your printing cost will increase if you’re having them done professionally. It's also easier to misalign more complex color schemes and designs if you're printing them yourself.
Step 3:
Set the cards. By copying and pasting the design on the page in business card-sized grids, you can create your template simply in Microsoft Word or any other simple word processing computer program.
Step 4:
Print them. You can print as many cards you’d like yourself. You will need card stock paper (which is known at 110-pound stock) and a razor or a cutter that will slice straight lines in several pages at a time. Print the cards onto the paper and separate them by cutting appropriately.
