Any collector out there on eBay wanting to purchase a reproduction type "Lifesize Samurai
Armor Yoroi Suit", please take my advice seriously. You better purchase
from the real sellers that have the "actual" pictures to back up
their product. Sorry to mention this but a lot of Chinese sellers on
eBay now are doing just that-selling "Japanese Samurai Armor Yoroi Suits"
using other seller's pictures for their sale, and NOT providing actual
pictures of their own product. Is it me or do I see many "copyright"
armor pictures being used by a lot of Chinese sellers
on eBay? Why? I have purchased many great original items on eBay from
China and from a lot of nice Chinese sellers but when it comes to Samurai
Armor, it's
somehow a different approach with the same copyright action! I
researched and have documented 2
Samurai Armor Yoroi Suit sellers on eBay that provide their own actual
photos , detailed description of the product and offered a lot of
helpful information. They are J-Vintage.com and Samurai-Store. These 2
eBay sellers have the original photos that many Chinese armor sellers
on eBay are using right now for their sale. Please BEWARE!!
I had my first bad (and only this one so far) eBay experience 4 months ago (and still pending as of 8-10-07) from a Chinese eBay seller ("flyingdragon888") that tricked me into buying an armor suit he claimed that was as shown on his eBay page. It was the same photo that the Samurai-Store had in thier eBay store. Of course when I chose the cheaper route, I got a product that was WAY different than what was shown and yes you guessed it - extremely cheap.
Guidelines to remember when purchasing a Lifesize, wearable, Samurai Armor Yoroi Suit:
If not available, always ask for more photos of the actual suit being sold, if the seller cannot provide more pictures and/or gives an excuse about his or her camera being broke for now, DO NOT BID on it at all, no matter if the price is really too good to pass up! Never never never close the deal outside of eBay ever! eBay cannot track your record AND cannot take action for you if you did an outside transaction.
And if you decide to bid and win it, ALWAYS make the sale transaction via paypal or bidpay or any well documented company that can track the payment and product info. So later if the suit sent to you was "not as described", you can report it immediately to eBay .
