Hello everyone,
Welocome to my guide to buying an electric guitar.I have sold a few guitar's on ebay latley, with all buyer's completly happy. The first thing you should do when considering a guitar on ebay is research.Check the completed listing's to see how much the item sells for, check out web sites like musician friend ect. to see how much you can buy it brand new.Always look at the buyer's feedback score and comments to see how they do buisness,i would not purchase a guitar from a seller with anymore alot of negitive feedback no matter how good the deal is.True sometimes you get stuck with a crabby person to deal with on ebay and get negitive but,you dont even want to take the risk when paying bid money on a item. One thing i always do on any item i want to bid on or buy is email the seller and see how long he takes to respond if he even responds at all.Dont rush into the first one you like take your time and select several different guitar's and add to your watch list.Try to contact them all and see how well they respond.Shipping price and method is also a big one.Always check the shipping price and who it will be shiped through, compare this to other item's listed or go to shiper's web page like UPS and check how much it costs to ship for yourself. How the guitar is going to be packaged when in transit to you is huge. You dont want a guitar that;s shipped cheap and then only to find your guitar is cracked were the neck meets the body. You should make sure to ask the seller to wrap the guitar very well with bubble wrap and make sure the guitar has no room to moveduring transit.Buying a guitar that comes with a hardshell case will definatly help ensure your guitar arrives safe,as long as they bubble wrap the guitar in case so it cannot move around.Gig bages or padded bags are nothing more than dust cover's.They will not help your guitar from damage,so always try to find a guitar with the hardshell case.Another good tip on shipping is if you buy from seller near the end of the week , request that they just ship it on Monday. If they ship your guitar on Friday you will have to deal with the fact that your guitar will be laying around somewhere over the weekend on a truck.Last advice on shipping BUY INSURANCE ON ANY GUITAR OVER $100.00 .It is so easy for a guitar to get damaged it's not worth the risk to save $10.00 bucks.I here alot of people say they don't want to buy a guitar that they havent played yet because they dont know if they would like it.A simple fix to this problem ,look for seller's that offer a trial period for returns.Remember you cant just take the seller's word it needs to be posted in the add.You can also go to your local guitar store and see if they have the guitar there so you can test it out.You should already have a good idea of what guitar you want before you start looking..Just remember if you dont rush and you take your time you wont be sorry after you buy that guitar on ebay.Note never buy a guitar from CHINA!There are so many scamer's over there and shipping is like $200 to $300 dollars over there.I really dont recommend buying over seas but you can decide that for yourself.I hope this info has been helpful to you and if it has please check yes by the box below.Good luck and buy smart
