Alrighty guys and gals, this is a guide that will hopefully save some of the lost technology out there thats wasted on people that dont need it, dont know how to use it, or both.
First off, figure out WHY you need a computer. Is is because you want to stay in touch with cousin Lou in Maine? Is it because you need it for typeing up reports for your business or job? Is it to play games on, likea really big gameing console? All of these plus more are the most common reasons people say "Hunny, I think we need to get a computer." Ahhhh, but here is the catch...salesmen and PC companies dont care WHAT you do with your PC, they only know one thing...better parts cost more to build, thus costing more to sell, equaling a higher profile margin. SO! That brings me to the subject of this guide. I build PCs, i sell parts, and i try by BEST never to waste good parts on Grand Pa Joe who barely knows where the POWER button is located.
I have realized there are really only 3 main PC user class's.
Simple: Uses PC to type reports, surf net, send emails and pictures. Chats online, mess's around on Ebay, and usually doesnt care when their PC is 10 years out of date, and Bill Gates looks at it and says "WOW! I made that?"
Casual: Downloads music, burns CDs, plays a game or two here and there, and watches movies on their PC. These people usually try to update their PC every so often just to keep doin what they have been doin already.
HardCore: Gamers (and by this title i mean someone who plays more than 2 games and spends more that 5 hours with each sit-down), the cronic "multi-tasker"...someone who thinks its great to play a high end video game and try to run 6 programs in the background. These types of people are the types that accually get EXCITED when new hardware is developed and hits the market. They also rush to the store to buy the latest graphics card and seem to always get stuck buying more RAM and a new game to test it all out with. THESE are the people that need to spend $1000 or more on their PC. Everyone else needs only the basics stuff...
Ok, thats the groups...figure out which one you fit into and run with it. If your a gamer like myself...you understand why i wrote this guide, if your not a gamer...just follow the instrustions above and STOP WASTEING THE POWER!
