or
items sold 1,200 3,600 12,000 30,000 180,000
So you ask how do I maintain $1,000 a month in sales.
Here are the top 10 ways I have found to help my sales:
1. The key words in your item Title: (The more key words you have the better people will visit your listings)
2. Have an eBay Store: (If you are like me and have several items to sell, having an eBay Store is the way to go. I have the Basic Store which I pay $16.00 per month to have. Once you have an eBay Store, your listings will be on eBay until you remove it or someone buys it. You only pay between 6 cents to 11 cents per listing)
3. Make your listings attractive: (I know Web Design. I try to make my listings very appealing. I have found that by using backgrounds and graphics, draw more people to my listings. If you do not know web design, that is ok. You can add backgrounds to your listing when you are about to list an item. You can use the eBay Listing Designer for $0.10 (10 cents per listing)
4. Adding Music: (Many users don't like the distraction or download-time associated with music in an auction and may hit the back button. However, there are many instances where music is an integral part of the product being sold. Example: I was selling some basketball items and had the official NBA song playing in the background. Example: I was selling some Jurassic Park comic books and had the Jurassic park Theme song playing in the background. I always try to have music that relates to the listing. I have found this to be helpful)
5. Having lots of pictures: (When I list an item, I try to have at least 6 pictures. The more the better. When people are searching your listing, they want to know what they are buying. The more pictures you have of your item, the better chance you have on selling your item. Remember the saying: "A picture is worth a thousand words".)
6. Get the hottest gadgets on the market: (Example: Nintendo Wii was the hottest item on the market last year. All the stores were sold out of them. Retail stores are selling them at $249.99. On eBay they were selling for $400.00 to $500.00. You could double your money. Look in store ads, they could be having great deals on clearance items. When the Apple iphone came out, I made $200.00 profit off of each phone I sold. The newest item on the market is Google's new G1 Phone. Always keep in mind that people want the newest and hottest thing in their hands right now.)
7. Offer a Combined Shipping Discount: (This will make you and the buyer happy. The buyer is happy for getting a shipping discount. The seller is happy to sell 2 or more items. The seller actually makes more money this way. You ask how? Here is the answer: When shipping 2 or more items to the same address, it saves you money rather than sending those same items to 2 different people. Sometimes, you can make a lot of money off the shipping price.)
8. Great Customer Service: (When a potential buyer asks a question about your listing, get back to them right away. You do not want that potential buyer buying that same item from another seller. When responding to their question, try to be exact as possible. Always say in your replay back to them: "If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me.")
9. Shipping Time: (When people buy on eBay, they want their items right away. Try to ship their items asap. When shipping items right away, your buyer receives it more quickly and is happy. This will show in your Positive Feedback and DSR's. When I ship an item to someone, most of the time I will add a Thank you note and add my User Id and Store Name: Discovering New Deals. You might consider adding a coupon in the package. This person may want to buy from you again now that they have a coupon.)
10. Price: (Always start your auctions at a low price. If your item is too high, potential buyers will pass your listing and buy elsewhere. By starting listings low, you start a bidding war.)
If you do all of these things, you have a great chance of return buyers, and your monthly sales will grow.
Always remember these tips on becoming an eBay Powerseller. It has worked for me. Other people might have a different strategy.
