How to buy a Sony Playstation 3 on eBay without getting scammed
- Always ask for a picture of the PS3 with a post-it-note showing your name and the date.
- Don't buy from a seller who uses PRIVATE BIDDERS even if the seller has alot of feedback.
- Alot of eBay accounts are getting stolen and being used by scammers to "sell" high-priced items. Beware of sellers who act "strange".
- One day auction = scam.
- Private bidders = scam.
- Scammers will ask you to buy "outside of eBay".
- Scammers ask you to email via a non-eBay email (@aol @aim or @yahoo).
A typical scam will be multiples of the following:
- Zero feedback seller
- 1 Day auctions
- Recent account name change
- Private Bidder/User ID kept private
- High feedback seller (stolen account)
- Sells pages and pages of high-priced items at well-below wholesale prices
- Asks you to email him directly (@aol, @yahoo, @aim) instead of eBay
Remember:
- Always ask for a picture of the item showing a post-it-note with the date and your name on it. A valid buyer will always be more than willing to do this for an interested buyer. A scammer will make up some lame excuse.
- Pay with Paypal with a credit card. Use 'Escrow.com' escrow service which is the only eBay approved service. Or pay in person with cash. Never use Western Union or any other escrow service.
