To achieve the perfect make-up finish, you must follow various steps.

Firstly, you need to cleanse, tone and moisuturise. For this, i reccomend WITCH for those who are on a budget, or CLARINS for those who don't mind splashing out a little. Exfoliating 3 times a week is also very beneficial, especially for uneven skin tones or dry skin. I find St Ives Apricot Scrub the best, it is made for sensitive skin as well as normal skin.

Clarins is pretty straight forward, as the cleaner, toner and moisturiser can be bought as a set. For Witch, i reccomend the foaming facial wash as a cleanser, then use Witch toner, followed by a moisturiser suitable for your skin type. (oily, dry or combination).

A tinted moisturiser is a must, as it makes you look awake even after a heavy night out. Clarins tinted moisturisers are brilliant for all skin types, as they are a light, natural looking coverage. Avon do a similar product for a lower price, which comes in shades LIGHT, MEDIUM and DARK.

This provides a base for your make up. Now, if you skin is oily, you will need to sweep some powder foundation over you skin to provide a matt appearance. RIMMEL 'clear complexion' is an excellent powder to use, and using a big brush with downwards sweeps also helps to conceal the appearance of pores.

If you have imperfections, such as dark circles under the eyes, spots, minor scars, MAXFACTOR PANSTIK is a creamy foundation in stick form which helps to hide imperfections but does not clog pores.

If you already have an olive complexion, bronzer is not needed, instead, use a hightlighting powder, such as BARRY M, and sweep over the cheek and brow bones for that Hollywood Glamour look. If you need a little bronzer to help you achieve that sun kissed look, I reccomend RIMMEL'S sunshimmer bronzer powder colletion. Simply swirl a large make up brush around the bronzer and sweep over the brow bone, cheek bone, down the centre of the nose and lightly across the chin.

To accentuate cheekbones, use a blusher complimentative to your skin tone - for fair complexions, pale pinks, medium, browns and olives, coral colours. To make your cheekbones stand out, suck your cheeks in and sweep blusher onto the hollows of your cheeks. If you already have supermodel cheekbones, simply smile and dab the apples of your cheeks with your complimenting blusher. Cream blushers are the favourite, as they are easily blended so they look natural.

For look-at-me eyes, you need a decent mascara and you need to know how to apply it to make the most of your eyes. My secret tip is firstly appyling a clear mascara to the eyeslashes and then using eyelash curlers to maximise your curl and then applying a volumising and lengthening mascara such as LOREAL UNSTOPPABLE. Allow the coat of mascara to dry and then apply a second coat - third if neccessary, for that wide-awake look.

If your eyes need extra help, use a KOHL eyeliner on the bottom of your lashes, and a liquid eyeliner, such as COLLECTION 2000 on the top lashes, to create a wide-awake look.

Now onto eye shadow. If you have BLUE eyes, sweep a light blue eye shadow from the eyelid to the brow bone, a medium blue all over the eyelid and a darker shade of blue in the crease of the eyelid.

For GREEN eyes, use a pale green for the brown bone, a dark. green for the eyelide, and a purple/maroon shade for the crease.

For BROWN eyes, use a pale beige for the brown bone, a light brown for the lid, and a dark brown for the crease.

These tenchinques help to enhance your eye colour, and make people more drawn towards your eye colour.

Lastly, if you have any gaps in your brows, find a brow pencil to compliment your natural eyebrow colour and use gentle sweeping movements to fill in any gaps. Don't use it as you would a normal pencil, or you will only achieve a 'drawn on' effect.
