PREPARING YOUR FABRIC FOR TRANSFER

1- All fabrics must be prewashed prior to apply your transfer. Prewashing is recommended for both 100% cotton or 50/50 cotton/poly.

2- Wash in cold water with regular detergent. Do not add bleach or fabric softner to wash.

3- Dry on normal setting. Do not add fabric softner sheets.

TRANSFERING YOUR IMAGE WITH AN IRON. ADULT SUPERVISION IS RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN. USE IN WELL VENTILATED AREA.

. Do not leave a margin around edge of design

PREPARING YOUR TRANSFER.

Carefully remove and discard the paper backer. Heat iron without steam to maximum cotton setting. Iron your fabric first if necessary, let cool off before applying your transfer image. Lay fabric on hard, smooth surface, do not use a glass or metal surface. Place transfer paper in desired position on fabric. For better results cover image with overlay paper wich can be used a couple of times. Use medium/firm pressure, slide the iron up and dowm, keep iron moving constantly. Make sure to cover the edges of the image completely. For full size sheet iron 1 1/2 minutes. For 1/2 sheet iron 45 seconds - 1 minute. Allow the shirt to cool completely and remove the ironing sheet. For 50/50 shirts, full size sheets - wool setting- 1 1/2 minutes medium-heavy pressure.

LAUNDRY INSTRUCTIONS

Turn the garment inside out before laundering. Wash in warm or cold water (warm water preferred), using a gentle detergent. Avoid bleach or bleach alternative detergents. Tumble dry on low or medium setting with shirt turned inside out. Dry immediately after washing to prevent bleeding. If garment needs ironing, DO NOT iron directly on the image, cover it with baking parchment or a silicone slip.

TIPS:

If you start to see the color of the shirt coming through the paper, you have ironed the transfer too long or the iron is too hot. Try reducing the setting of iron first to see if this will correct the problem. Due to the differences in irons the temperature setting for cotton can vary greatly depending on the specific iron.

To preserve the image for the longest time, save the reusable ironing sheet and lightly touch up the image for about 5-10 seconds after each washing. Remember to allow the ironing sheet to cool oprior to removing.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Cracks- can be caused by not preheating the fabric to get moisture out, or after washing if fabric not preshrunk, or fabric being stretched too much. Hard looking surface that almost peels off - iron was too hot. Doens't stick to the fabric - iron too cool. Bubbles - not evenly applied from center working outwards. Bleeding - Garment was left wet or hung to dry.
