Did you know the first Talking Boards were produced prior to 1890?  By the 1920's their popularity was so great that many large newspapers ran articles and regular columns dealing with the phenomena of Talking Boards.

The Spirit Board is a tool to access occult knowledge.

The standard definition of the word occult is hidden.  That's it!Nothing evil or wicked is implied in the word.  Now, whether the hidden knowledge is part of your subconscous or comes from the spirit world is open to your interpretation...

The traditional and time honored original William Fuld instructions: circa 1920

1. Place the board upon the knees of two persons, lady and gentleman preferred.  Place heart shaped table (the planchette) in the center of the board, resting fingers lightly upon the table so as to allow it to move freely and easily.  A question may be asked, and in from one to five minutes the table witll commence to move, at first slowly and then faster.  As the table passes over the board, a transparent window or pointer at the top indicates each letter of a message as it is received.
2. Care should be taken that only one person asks questions at a time so as to avoid confusion.
3. To obtain the best results it is important that the person present should concentrate upon the matter in question and avoid other topics.  Have no person at the table that will not sit seriously and respectfully.  If you use it in a frivolous spirit, asking ridiculous questions, laughing over it, you will naturally get undeveloped influences around you.
4. The Spirit Board is a great mystery, and none claim to give exact directions for it's management and use, and the spirit board will not work equally well under all circumstances.  With reasonable patience and judgment the Board will satisfy your greatest expectations.
5. The board should be kept smooth and free from dust and moisture, as all depends on the ease with which the feet of the table can glide over the surface of the board.  Rubbing with a soft dry cloth just before using is advised.

Here are a few time honored BlackRaven suggestions:

• wipe your board clean with a soft cloth
• smudge your board with a sage bundle or any purifying incense (like rosemary, patchoulli, or frankensence)
• light a white candle
• state, in a clear strong voice, that no negative or harmful energies be attracted to your Board
• tell any negative forces that may be present that they are now banished and dismissed
• Some like to say a prayer or some some words of protection prior to using the board
• ask for a helpful and positive entity to make itself know to you before beginning the questions

You can use a spirit or talking board by yourself, but this requires practice and patience for most people.  Some are simply unable to get results when working with the board alone. The energy raised by two or more may be needed.  All of the above pointers are just suggestions and can be modified as the user sees fit.  As with any form of divination, what works for one may not work for another. 

 Spirit Boards Do Work. They will NOT bring evil spirits or bad luck into your life.  Unless, of course, you really believe that they will...or want them to.

Spirit Boards are not the tool of the devil.  I'm sure that Satan has better things to do than hang around your spirit board.  Besides, everyone knows that the tool of the devil is a Phillips Screwdriver...
