March 2006
No matter where you live in the world, the month of March means one thing: Dry Skin.
Whether you have too much sun down in Argentina or too much cold and wind in Norway, we’re all dealing with chapped, dry skin. Here are 5 tips on using Arbonne products to help fight dry skin from head to toe:
- CLEANSING. When you bathe or shower, use lukewarm water Hot water dries out the skin. Avoid using harsh soaps that dry the skin. Avoid rubbing your skin with a washcloth. Using your hands to cleanse and rinse your face is best. When toweling dry, pat or “blot” the skin dry. Make sure there is still some moisture left on the skin. Apply your skincare while your face is still damp. I recommend Arbonne International skincare products for face and body, such as the RE9 antiaging body lotion, the Skin Conditioning Oil or the Skin Lotion.
- MOISTURIZING. The best time to moisturize is immediately after a bath or shower so that the moisturizer holds in the moisture from the shower. Apply body lotion and face moisturizer in the morning and again at bedtime. For those with acne or combination skin, use a “raindrop” amount of oil-free moisturizer in addition to any acne lotion you apply at night and be sure to avoid the T zone around your nose and chin where a lot of breakouts occur. The Arbonne anti-acne set is wonderful because it fights acne without overdrying your skin. The rejuvenating cream really works wonders on dry winter skin for all skin types. Arbonne has a wonderful line of mositurizers including anti-aging, normal to oily, normal to dry and anti-acne. Keep baby's skin soft with the ABC Body Lotion! The Men's Exfoliating Wash is wonderful for rejuvenating skin after a day on the slopes or on the water. Don't forget your feet and hands - Arbonne's herbal foot rub, Hand Cream, Awaken Sea Salt Scrub and RE9 body lotion work wonders on dry feet and hands.
- SUNSCREEN. Be sure to use a sunscreen with SPF 15 or greater on all areas that are exposed to the sun, such as the face, ears, hands, and back of the neck. Arbonne's sun line also includes anti-aging protection. The ABC sunscreen for babies will keep your children safe from the sun's rays and their skin soft.
- LAUNDRY. For laundry, use “clear” or fragrance free detergents. Avoid using fabric softeners, especially in the dryer. If you'd like a little fragrance, spray on some Awaken or Unwind Mist as you fold your clothes.
- HYDRATE THE AIR AROUND YOU. As you shower, breathe in the warm air through your nose and mouth and after you leave the shower, blow your nose to clean out your nasal passages. Use a humidifier in your home during the winter. Work and sleep in a fairly constant temperature and humidity (ideally around 68 degrees F).
- Remember to drink plenty of water and other liquids to keep your skin moist from the inside, too!! Arbonne's products are water based and never use mineral oil.
