How we operate our DVD / Video Game Business and how YOU can start your own.

The primary focus of our business is the purchase and sale of used DVD's and Video Games, in as close to mint condition as possible. Locally, we have numerous pawn shops and used video-game shops. Typically, these places offer $1.00 (Yes, that is all - ONE U.S. DOLLAR) for used DVD's and video games. If it is a newer title, they may offer $2.00, and if it is a VERY NEW, HOT TITLE , they may offer $3.00, perhaps even four. Most titles, however, fetch only a SINGLE DOLLAR.

So, What do we do?

We offer a BETTER price than these pawn shops and used games shops (via local newsprint advertising, flyer distribution, etc.) - THE RESULT - We end up with many GREAT TITLES that are gently used, which we can offer at excellent prices, to you, the consumer. We also purchase various bulk lots and closeouts. Now, these bulk purchases (which you can find on eBay - that's where we find them) are usually nothing special - They are usually the type of DVD's and movies that you will find on your $1.00 - $5.50 "Rack" or "BIN" at your local dollar store or "(fill-in-the-blank)-MART". We then sort our stock into five and ten lot DVD's, usually one newer movie in the five lot with four of the bulk titles, and two newer movies in the ten lot, with eight of the bulk titles.

Do we Make any money?

Well, these lots sell rather well, and although the profit may seem small, it does add up with lots of sales! Small profit, high volume will keep your business running smoothly enough to also offer some high-profit low-volume items. So, check around your local pawn shops, used games shops, etc. Find out what they offer per title. Decide what you can afford to offer and then advertise! Look to eBay for the Bulk Lots. Build your initial stock and start selling (eBay is the best sales outlet! Although currently most of our sales are local, we are switching our business soon to eBay only). There is NO reason why you should not be able to duplicate this business. Just remember to accurately describe your product, keep shipping and handling reasonable, and your customers HAPPY! Competition is GOOD for the consumer!

I hope that you have found this guide useful.
