When you have a recurve bow there are proper ways to store it.
- NEVER stand in a corner, always store laying down (somewhere where it won't get damaged) or HANG on a bow rack.
- NEVER store your bow strung, always unstring the bow to relieve the tension before storing.
- NEVER string the bow backwards. I have seen TOO many bows on eBay that have the string on them backwards. This will warp or twist the limbs. IF you do not know how the string goes on the bow properly, the best thing to do is leave the string off completely.
- NEVER store in direct sunlight either.
I hope this information helps. I am an avid archery shooter/hunter and it really bothers me to see so many pictures of bows strung backwards. If you are not sure how to store the string on the bow (w/o the bow being strung) then just remove it completely. As a bidder/seller, I would rather see and/or purchase the bow without the string on it and have to string it myself.
