Stolen Photo: Flickr Photographer 'Randy Son of Robert' Print of SAME Photo with CLEAR ACRYLIC MEDIUM (FAKE OIL!)
I think the photos above say everything! This 'fraud' artist on the right is selling photos with Clear Acrylic Medium applied on top of the photo, or they are simply altering the photo using the Computer Program known as Photoshop! Do not be fooled!
These are NOT REAL OIL PAINTINGS!
I am an artist who paints in oil and find these listings insulting not to mention how angry they make me and other REAL artists here on ebay as these sellers are getting away with FRAUD!If you have purchased such a 'painting' I would demand a refund from ebay or paypal and I would let ebay know what you think about this.
There are also other 'so-called' artists here on ebay selling GICLEE CANVAS PRINTS PAINTED OVER IN OIL, you can find them quite easily as they are the ones that look OVERLY realistic, much like a photograph and many, many people have been fooled! It is unfortunate that such individuals are allowed to continue to prey upon unsuspecting buyers not to mention the photographers they have stolen from or misled into allowing their photos to be used, many not even realizing that their photos would be up for sale here on ebay!...one such photographer from Flickr had a cat photo used without her realizing it would be created into a 'painting' and sold here on ebay for close to $1000! (And this photographer takes photos of cats for a local shelter!) It just goes to show you these creeps have NO conscience, they do not care who they steal from, and until people start reporting them to the FBI (they have a form to REPORT ART FRAUD), these crooks will continue to make ebay their playground.

REMEMBER in ART, as in LIFE,
If a PAINTING Looks a Little 'TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE',
CHANCES ARE it is FAKE!

***BEFORE YOU BUY ORIGINAL ART HERE ON EBAY OR ELSEWHERE:***
*Do a GOOGLE search of an ARTIST you are thinking of buying from and see what you find....
*ASK other ARTISTS for their opinion if you are unsure whether a painting is 'genuine'...
*Has anything been written negatively about that artist?...
*Have they been reported to VERO?...
*Do they belong to any ARTISTS' GROUPS or Associations?....
*What sort of awards do they hold outside of Ebay?....
*In some cases, do they even exist?...if you GOOGLE their name you should be able to find quite a bit of information on them, if you cannot find ANYTHING or VERY LIMITED information, this should put up RED FLAGS for you!
***YOU ARE MAKING AN INVESTMENT when you purchase ART, shouldn't you know WHO you are buying from?....***
