How to Spot a Counterfeit The North Face Jacket - Quick Guide
I live in Sunny Warm Florida; I wear a winter jacket maybe twice a year. The last winter coat I bought was a counterfeit The North Face jacket from an unscrupulous eBay seller, whom is no longer registered, who didn’t see that one coming? Rather than lick my wounds because PayPal nor eBay would give me my money back, I have decided to make lemon into lemon aid. I’ll keep this quick and short for your benefit:
Tags - The counterfeit jackets only have one tag attached. Some of the counterfeit tags say Five Boroughs. The tag should say North Face Denali Jacket. Since the scammers are stealing real tags and putting them on the counterfeits then pay attention to the following.
Stitching – the stitching on Real North Face jackets is a smooth zig zag pattern, the counterfeit with minimal or NO loose threads. The counterfeits will have a straight stitch and lots of loose threads and skips in the stitch, because even the machine they use to make the fakes are cheap.
Fleece – The real North face Jackets have a fuzzy fleece. The counterfeit North Face has a smooth sllek like fleece that even though it looks good, if it gets wet, it will not keep you warm.
Odor – The counterfeits stinks, why you ask? Because in the cheap back alley ghettos of China were they are manufactured it also stinks. It’s a combination of pollution, bad hygiene, smoke filled factories and cheap materials. In defense of my Asian brothers and sisters it’s mostly the cheap materials that stink.
Sellers – Look at the sellers other auctions or listings. If they have tons of counterfeit items like Jerseys, handbags, jewelry, etc…then chances are they are in on the scam. Don’t bother asking them if its real, they will only lie.
Price – If the buy it now price is far below the actual retail price and they have multiple listings the your dealing with counterfeit or stolen goods. Either way it’s not worth the risk of getting junk for your money.
I hope this gives a general idea of what to look for, if you have found the information helpful , please rate it with a yes vote. Help keep it up high in the rankings so that others can find answers to these scams. Thanks
