Most trade dollars from China are fake but look very simular to the real thing. look at the grapes under the eagles talons and see if they are rounded or oblong. Then check your book to see if the year your looking at falls under the rounded type or oblong type. Some may have a discoloration or fading if the material used underneath the silver coating is showing through. Usually a brownish or copper sheen. Also a real trade dollar will weigh 27.22 Grams. The Seated Liberty dollars are also very good Fakes but a real one will weigh 26.73 Grams. Most Fakes of either coin will also react to the common magnet exsposing the existance steel within. Rember they are supposed to be silver.
I'm still researching on them and will write another guide when I get more info. REMEMBER... If it sounds to good to be true then it probably is.
