Hello there. My name is Lindsey and I am an avid scrapbooker. While not the best or most creative I do enjoy this hobby. Here are some tips to try to save money (we all know scrapbooking can get very expensive).
1. Sign up for the AC Moore and Michaels weekly fliers online.
This serves two purposes. First, they will send you the flier when there are sales. Learn to buy stuff on sale only. Both of these stores seem to rotate what they sell. One week it will be paper, the next will be supplies, then stickers, etc.... Keep a running list of what you need and then only buy when it goes on sale. Second, AC Moore will send you an online coupon which you can print and use daily. Very fabulous.
2. Use coupons
Most stores will take competitors coupons, so cut them all out (the only exception is the printed online coupon from ACMoore-Michael’s will not accept).
Tell yourself you won’t buy anything over $5.00 without a coupon. Most coupons are 40% off so this can add up to a significant savings.
3. Discover the joy of mystery auctions
Often times I find myself buying stuff with the intention of using and then I never use it. Now, if I know I am not going to use something I sell it. A good way to do this is create a mystery auction Scrapbook Mystery Auctions. I have had my sister sell a couple of mystery auctions for me and they have done well. And hey, even $10 is better than nothing for things only taking up room in your craft area collecting dust. Please note though, don’t sell garbage you don’t want. It’s ok to sell stuff you might not use-but if it’s junk just remember it’s your feedback that will be affected.
Buying mystery auctions as well as selling them is a good way to get some fabulous deals. Here is a guide to help you.

4. Buy in lots
Stickers in lots Jolee Sticker Lots are a good way to buy those favorites for usually about half. I bought a lot of Jolee Stickers for ~$100 but I got around 75 packages. For those of you who know scrapbooking realize I saved a ton. You ask me what I did with the ones I didn’t want????? See Tip number 3. Including some Jolee stickers in a mystery auction always classes it up.
5. Use embellishments that are free
If your going on vacation, make sure to pick up some extra fliers, maps, printed napkins from fancy resorts, etc... Even postcards can be cheaper than scrapbooking embellishments. I try to get multiples that way I can cut them up and use them in a variety of ways (and if I screw up I always have more). I even used stones and shells I collected from the beach to embellish one of my pages.
6. Have parties
This is a great way to socialize as well. By having parties you can share not only ideas but equipment with your friends. Not everyone needs to run out and buy everything.
7. Check out Ebay for great deals
Many tools, giftcards, even pages can be bought on ebay for a discount. You will have a ton of options when searching ebay for scrapbooking items. Below are some links to help you out
