I am both a buyer and a seller. I often shop ebay for rare items of clothing, discontinued items, hard-to-find pieces, etc. I often see clothing that I've never seen before in local stores that spark my interest. However, if it is one thing I do NOT understand it is WHY the LACK of DETAILS on garment listings?? Do you, the seller, think that we potential buyers KNOW the EXACT measurements of your size "Large" of an item that we've NEVER seen before?? Do you, the seller, think that we automatically know what the back of that garment looks like? Well, WE DO NOT.....
This may seem elementary to some, but if you plan to list ANY clothing on ebay, please invest in some kind of measuring tape (preferrably a flexible one) and learn how to properly use it (1/4", 1/2", 3/4", etc). You can miss potential sales because a buyer may not have, or take the time to message you with questions (just like they don't take time to vote, lol). It is IMPERATIVE that you take the time to list as MANY DETAILS as possible about the garment if you want a sale. We, as buyers, often look thru HUNDREDS of items per search, and we cannot always take time to send messages to each buyer and wait for the responses. And sometimes buyers find listings with only 2-3 hours left and sellers cannot respond in time. You could have closed that sale....now you have to re-list.
Listings such as this one below, really, really annoy me....
"Beautiful Black leather jacket, never worn, great condition, size Large".
And THATs IT (??).........well, HOW am I to know what constitues your size "Large"???
LIST IMPORTANT MEASUREMENTS of clothing items to BOOST your SALE!!
******Making shopping EASIER for the buyer is ALWAYS KEY!!******
PUT THE SIZE IN YOUR TITLE (we shouldn't have to click on listing to see the size!)
MEASURE YOUR CLOTHING!!
Please take front AND back photos. If you don't want to spend on the extra photo, if you check, many photo programs offer a "fuse" or "stitch", etc., feature that combines two photos into one. There are even free online imaging that let you save your finished photo to your hard drive.
List measurements made while garment is lying flat on a flat surface & zipped/buttoned/closed. Here are helpful measurements that I, as a buyer, look for:
Chest Measurement-Measured from armpit to armpit.
Sleeve Length- Measured from top shoulder seam to end of sleeve.
Shoulder Length-from neckline seam to top shoulder seam.
Waist Measurement-Across waistline.
Hip Measurement-Across bottom or hip area (if applicable)
Back length-From back collar to bottom of garment.
Taking the time to measure these accurately helps SO much! This way, there is NO confusion about what constitutes a size "Large", etc. Please try to incorporate this in your listings, IF you want to boost your selling. We, as buyers, will really appreciate it....
****I write these guides for you, so if you find this of ANY help to you, please click "YES" below and let me know......helping people brings me much joy and it would really make my day to know that I've been of help to the ebay community ;-) Those who read this statement and still don't vote are just EVIL people....
