PvPMAX Game's Golditemshop
Introduction
Most members of the Second Life virtual world conform to the rules against harassment, fraud and other violations, but there are always exceptions. The owners of Second Life enforce these rules strictly and have procedures for dealing with problems. Follow these steps to stand up for yourself and make Second Life safer for everyone.
Step One
Visit the Second Life home page where you filled out your membership application (see the Resources section below). Click on "Community Standards."
Step Two
Review the rules, especially the "Big Six." These are intolerance, harassment, assault, disclosure, indecency and disturbing the peace.
Step Three
Determine which rule the abuse has violated and in what way.
Step Four
Enter Second Life through the desktop icon and open "Help" from the toolbar. Click on "Abuse Reporter."
Step Five
Enter all the information requested. Report the incident or incidents lucidly in a factual manner--don't rant and rave about a bad experience. Click on "Send."
Step Six
Expect to be informed of the decision on your report and what action was taken. The three levels of discipline are warning, suspension and banishment.
Step Seven
Ask that fellow members be aware of the abuse and the abuser. Friends can watch the locations and events that the abuser frequents to be sure that it does not happen again. They may not, however, harass or disturb the offender.
Overall Tips & Warnings
Be very careful when creating objects. Sometimes scripted objects can "get away" from the creator and cause problems in the network. Always try your scripts in a public "sandbox" area before releasing them in-world to avoid a citation for "disturbing the peace."
Peruse "Second Life: The Official Guide" for additional assistance or more information on abuse reporting procedures.
Second Life warns those who engage in commerce on the site that the owners are not responsible for product dissatisfaction or rip-offs. These matters must be settled between individual members.
Alternate accounts opened under a separate name and avatar for the purpose of getting away with disturbing others are shut down when they are reported.
Revealing private information about somebody else is forbidden on the Second Life site, but that doesn't mean it never happens. Use discretion about the information you reveal to others.
Like all sites, Second Life does its best to remain free of viruses, but there are no guarantees. If your computer is suddenly very slow to respond or does not allow you to access places that you have never had trouble with before, consider canceling your Second Life membership.
