You will need time for this project, anywhere from an hour
to three or more hours depending on how many cards you want to remove.
In other words, you can't leave this project and do something else, too..
It doesn't work... trust me on this!
Take apart your scrapbook, removing any
metal or wooden pegs, strings, washers and covers.
Select three or four cards to practice on, please do not use your
favorite cards until you are more familiar with this procedure.
Good practice cards are flat, one dimension cards such as
school Valentines or Art Deco cards
Shown below are my practice cards which I have removed
from two very old scrapbooks with aged, brittle pages.
The cards are very difficult to pull from the pages.
I do not expect these cards to come out too well,
so they are perfect to practice with!
Trim everything from around your practice cards
using a good, sharp scissors, leaving a 1" to 3" border
of the scrapbook page around each card
You might also have cards in your collection which have some
ugly glue-paper remaining on the back such as in the picture below..
and these are fine for practice, too
Besides the scissors, you will need a large, shallow pan,
either plastic or tupperware..I pick them up at auctions or yard sales,
or the dollar stores for very little money.
You will need a second, deeper pan..a large towel..a few hand towels
and newspapers, preferably the smaller ones that have
all the garage sales and advertising.
Remove the colored covers from them, and trim them as shown,
along the left and middle sides so you have a stack of pre-cut pages
with just two cuts of the scissors
