The other guide by Ebay seller Ms Mint seems to want everyone to buy from her as everyone else's Yu-Gi-Oh God Cards must be fake if they offer a full refund if not satisfied, if they require immediate payment, or if they are not in a foil wrapper!! This is NOT TRUE and you may be misled by a seller whose advice is VERY self serving.
In truth, the criteria for a real God Card doesn't have anything to do with the wrapper, immediate payment requirement, or offer of refund. A legitimate seller is easy to spot. CHECK THEIR FEEDBACK. Scroll down to the bottom of the feedback page and click the link to look at the last 100 feedback they have. If they are largely a seller, and their customers are happy with their products and services, they are likely NOT going to sell fakes as they don't want to risk negative feedback. There aren't too many sellers with one cent items to get a higher feedback rating. Click on a few of the item numbers for their recent and older sales. If they are selling similar items to what you want to buy, and not one cent items, they are likely a good seller. ALWAYS PAY WITH PAYPAL. If they send you a fake card, and will not provide a full refund, dispute it with Paypal. Paypal, owned by Ebay, will ALWAYS side with the buyer first, as they are in business to make money and need the TRUST of the buyers to make it. Check out HOW LONG THE SELLER HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS - also on the Feedback page. Someone selling fakes won't be in business long! (Though don't rule out sellers with shorter Ebay histories. You can get good bargains on good cards from 'new-bees'). Just remember to ALWAYS pay with Paypal so you don't get burned!
The non-self-serving advice from Ms Mint is actually pretty good - the parts about the card thickness, shineyness, etc. One other very good indicator of an authentic God Card is the hologram inside the GOLD box in the bottom right corner of the card. Hold the card flat and move it back and forth. If you can see a RIGHT SIDE UP Millenium Eye that changes to the letters Yu-Gi or Gi-Oh, it is likely an authentic card.
Many Yu-Gi-Oh card sellers, like myself, sell only one God Card at a time. We have a card store and buy and trade cards every day. I've never had someone trade in a set of God Cards in wrappers, so we always check them for authenticity. FEW card store owners, or longtime Ebay card sellers, would buy, or sell, fake cards, It's a very easy way to go out of business.
