Never pull a jump ring apart!  Following these steps to open and close jump rings will put the least amount of stress on your rings.


    1. Grasp the jump ring from the side with flat nose pliers
   

    2. Using your fingers or another set of pliers, gently push one side of the loop away from the other.
   

        3. Your jump ring should look like this when opened. Now slip on your chain, charm or other finding.
   

    4. Your pliers can be used the close the jump ring once again.
