Hopefully you all read my first guide about lice. It was how best to prevent lice. However, there are times when they just can not be prevented. My following steps are for everyone especially people with long hair that can not be brushed without conditioner.
As I said previously - you are not allowed to use conditioner when you use the pharmacy grade lice pesticides for 3 days after you treat your hair, at this time it is suggested that you treat your hair again for extra precaution. Anyone with long hair knows that it is IMPOSSIBLE to brush your hair without conditioner.
So my solution is simple. All you need is the "Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Conditioner" a nit comb, and saran wrap. You are going to want to do this on a day when you will not be leaving the house- unless you are really brave. You can get the nit comb at your local pharmacy.
1. With your hair dry, cover your hair with the conditioner. Lots of conditioner, like the majority of the bottle. This will drown the lice. Get really close to your scalp and make sure that your head is white with the conditioner.
2. Wrap your head with saran wrap to help keep the mess somewhat sustained to just yourself. I wrap a towel around my head now so my family laughs at me less.
3. Keep the wrap and conditioner on for the day. As long as you can. At least 8-12 hours. More if possible if you are just hanging around the house anyways.
4. Have a shower. Rinse out all of the conditioner .
5. Use the nit comb to comb your hair, it will be very easy seeing as your hair has super moisture from the day long conditioning treatment.
Voila! You should be (with no guarantees) pretty much lice free. If you check in 3 - 5 days and it is still there, then repeat and keep them drowning for longer.
Hope this helps those unfortunate people who have lice, and if you want to prevent it, read my other guide.
