One of the hardest things for many women is how to apply makeup properly or make the most of one feature.

The eyes are the doorway to the soul, so let's make the most of them!

The first thing you should consider is your eye shape:

Do you have a predominate lid?

Celeb examples would be: Susan Sarandon, Annie Potts, Emmy Rossum, Kiera Knightly etc

If you do consider this:

Take three colors: Lightest, Medium, Dark of any eye color

Apply the medium shade on the lid from lashline to crease, then apply the darkest color in the crease and the lightest color to your brow. This will then begin to balance the eye by accentuating the brow and minimize the lid.

Do you have Predominant Brows?

Some Celebs that have this are Brook Shields, Jennifer Connelly.

If you do perhaps you would like to apply the lightest shade to the lid, the medium shade to the brow area and the darkest shade to the crease.

This again provides balance making the lid appear more dominate and letting the brow be more subtle. Remember Light reflects and gives the allusion of something being bigger.

Do you have wide set eyes?

Celeb Example: Penelope Cruz, Milla Jovovich

The way to do this is to apply the medium shadow from the inner corner of the eyebrown down to the inner corner of the eye. This will create the illusion that the eyes are not as wide set.

Do you have Close Set eyes?

Celeb Example: Jennifer Lopez

Here we are going to use the lightest shade from the inner corner of the eyebrow down to the inner corner of the eye giving the illusion that the eyes are not so close together.

THE SECOND THING TO CONSIDER IS YOUR BROWS!

There isn't much to say about this. There are many how to guides but I'm just going to tell you point blank-go to a professional. If you go to a professional they will be able to help you. Waxing hurts but it only costs $10-$15 tops. This way you won't get your brows too thin, or too bushy or messed up.

If you are filling in your eyebrows always apply the eyebrow pencil or the shadow or whatever with a very light touch then follow up with a brow brush.

The THIRD THING TO CONSIDER IS YOUR EYE COLOR!

Let's be point blank here. You should not look at shadow in the same color as your eye color. EX: If your eyes are blue do not look towards blue eyeshadows. You will not get that beautiful pop that will enhance your eyes!

Here is a quick guide to help you make your eyes brilliantly beautiful.

Blue eyes: Use shades of brown, Tawny or bronze.

Green eyes: Use shades of Terracotta, plum, or wine.

Brown eyes: Use shades of gray, soft blue, or violet.

Using the opposit colors will make the eye color more vibrant!

Shimmer or Matte Eyeshadow?

It depends on your personal taste.

For the most part, the safest way to go is matte. Shimmer shows have a tendency to accentuate fine lines and wrinkles. However on someone in her teens shimmer is perfect.

THE FOURTH THING TO CONSIDER IS YOUR EYELINER!

Not much to say here. This is a safe way to play with all sorts of color. It's ment to accentuate the eye. Usually for daytime liner should be soft (Think: Pencil or eyeshadow used as an eyeliner) and for night it should be more dramatic (Liquid is excellent here)

THE FIFTH THING TO CONSIDER IS YOUR LASHES:

There are so many things here. But for the record EVERY WOMAN SHOULD OWN AN EYELASH CURLER!

Then it's the mascara to choose: Do you want lengthening? Volumizing? Curling? Color? All of the above?

The good thing about most mascara's is that they have it right on the box what they are good for.

My personal favorites for Mascara's are: BeneFit Bad Gal Mascara (This makes big lashes) and Lancome Fatale Mascara.

If you want thick and long lashes perhaps you would like to use a primer first. If this is the case make sure you:

1) Use your eyelash Curler first. Starting at the Base of the lashes, walk up to the middle of the lashes and then stop at the tips.

2) Use your Mascara Primer

3) Use your mascara

If all else fails and your at your wits end you can always try false eyelashes. Ardell makes some good ones as do MAC.

There now you have gorgeous beautiful eyes that will make anyone melt!
