While there is no "magic" formula, there few tips will make sure that your bidder is MUCH MORE LIKELY TO BUY FROM YOU:
1. Do your research. Search for similar products in Ebay auctions and stores in both current and completed auctions. Price your item fairly based on these. Don't price too high. Don't price too low.
2. To stand out from the crowd, write a DYNAMITE description. What would YOU want to know if you were interested in the product? Provide that info. I'm STILL amazed by how many people list an item with NO photos and then are shocked when it doesn't sell.
Don't make that mistake and always include information about age, condition and special or unique features.
3. Photos, photos, photos! They don't have to be professional, just clear enough to show your item. Not blurry, not taken from too far away. But good enough to clearly show YOUR buyer your item.
4. Search out the rare and unique. There are tons of items just waiting to be found by you, described in a positive way and ready to move on to a new home. Garage sales, thrift shops, friends, family members, etc. Again, think like a buyer and search out items that are special or desirable or basics (clothing, name brands, etc) that everyone uses.
5. Or, if you have a hobby or special knowledge, try to establish a "niche market" something you can promote because of your knowledge. I sell books because I love books, have been a longtime collector and know the area.
6. It is always better if you LOVE what you sell. Be passionate about your items and so will your buyers.
7. DO NOT assume your buyers know everything about what you are selling. DO NOT expect them to "just find" it. Make it easy by using the right keywords and by noting what makes your item a standout.
8. Put your item in the RIGHT category and double check spelling. Common sense? Maybe but tons of items get snatched up on Ebay for pennies because a seller didn't check their spelling or put it in the wrong category.
