It is when you use off-site promotion to bring visitors to your store. In other words you are bringing traffic to Ebay and your store.

to the bottom of all of my auctions. My customer remembered the name and came back to purchase the item.

You will need to purchase a domain name or web address and forward it to your store or set one up with ebay for this to work. They have a service. Besides who could remember an ebay store url anyway?

You can’t say visit my store click here in an auction ad and expect a store referral credit that would be violating ebay policy and probably get your account banned.

A referral credit is not only rewarding it makes me want to have more of them. So I found a new way to gain store referral credits probably the way Ebay intended - advertising.
