Most folks hear the word "Serendipity" and do not know what it is. Over the years I have realized that everyone's life is filled with opportunities, sometimes missed, because we are too focused on our day to day living.
To be open to good things....to find or discover something valuable that was not originally sought after is basically the definition of Serendipity.
Here is an example of Serendipity that happened to me, just one of many...and I will explain how you can benefit from Serendipity on Ebay.
My daughter called me and told me there was a book at a local thrift store that she thought I would be interested in. I dropped everything, even though I was right in the middle of something... my gut told me to go "right now". I pulled the book off of the shelf but another book right next to it caught my eye. It was "Maryland in World War II - Register of Service Personnel - Vol. V-T through Z" . Well with my maiden name starting with a "V" I immediately opened it to the "V's" and there was the name of my dear Father and his 2 brothers. I was overwhelmed and estatic. My dad had just passed away a few months before. I felt very blessed that something that day lured my daughter to that place, and therefore gifted me with this treasured book. I had never even knew that such books were ever published!
As you can see, I was searching for one thing and found something else much more valuable.
Everyday on Ebay, you can experience this phenomenom. How elated can you be with finding something you may have even forgot about as a child, and discover it on Ebay that brings good feelings back to you.
In order to do this, it is very simple. Search "completed" listings of a favorite item or collectible. Click on the user id of the winning bidder or some of the bidders for that item. Check out their current auctions that they are bidding on. You can shave off valuable time of your own searches as they have already done the work for you.
Click on the user id of that completed listing and check out their other listings. Click on their feedback and view the items they sold. You can click on other user id's of winning bidders and view their current bids. See what their items are. You may never know what you will find. Often times, folks that bid on what you are bidding on, do like or are attracted to the same things you are.
Also, by watching what other buyers are bidding on, it can give you an indication of what they have put in the "search" description. It may be something you never thought of to find a favorite item. For example, if you love Vintage Tole pieces, I found that one successful buyer was able to purchase a lovely Italian Tole piece by searching "Iron Bird on Tree" as the seller did not know what they had. Ahah! Now I search this way too.
Many of you may be already doing this and you are experiencing "Serendipity". It is almost like a treasure hunt on Ebay. It is not just shopping. It is exploring.
To discover more about Seredipity, I suggest the book by Richard Eyre - "Serendipity of the Spirit" The bridge between our goals and (God's) will.
