Well, you may have plenty of space on wall of your home or office ... you wonder what is the best way of displaying your arts on the wall. Here, I have listed a few points for your reference. Hope that these may help ...

WAYS OF HANGING:

1) HANG SINGLE ARTWORK TO CREATE STABLE AND STRONG FEELINGS

Public area in a house such as: living room and dining room are suitable for single artwork with bold theme. With a single artwork of bold theme, it could reflect your style and passion of arts. It could also be a nice topics to chat about during friends gathering. But, remember the color scheme should be in the same line with your interior decor.

2) GROUPING OF MULTIPLE ARTWORKS, SAME OR CONNECTING THEME

When grouping of multiple artworks, all pieces should work together in terms of image, color, and also the frames if there is any. So that there won't be any conflicting feel.

3) HANG SMALL AND DETAILED ARTWORK IN A COMPACT AREA

Compact area, such as corridors and hallways would be a nice place to hang artwork which is small and detailed. Here they can be viewed in closed up.

4) HANG ARTWORK IN STEPS

In family area, cute and small artworks could be arranged in steps to create a lively environment. The color of artworks is best to have warm color scheme.

A FEW SIMPLE RULES TO FOLLOW:

1) RATIO OF ARTWORK AND WALL AREA

You can put a big painting in a small wall, but a small painting on a big wall is a definite no-no. If you don't want to use a large painting for a large space try thinking about a series of small paintings.

2) HANG ARTWORK AT THE AVERAGE EYE LEVEL

Hang the artwork 160 cm above the floor, measured to the center of the artwork. If the painting is to be viewed near to a sitting place, you may lower down the paitings, so theat the focus point of the painting is near to the average eye level.

3) HANG LARGE ARTWORK IN VIEWING DISTANCE

We should leave about 30 inches of the viewing distance per 24 inches of art, or else the focus area would be only falss in part of the artwork only.

4) MINIMIZE DISTANCE BETWEEN ARTWORKS IN GROUPING

When arranging artworks in group, visualize the group as a single unit. Find the center point of the group, start from the center point then slowly move to the left and right. Make sure the grouping has balance by keeping the weight of the pieces well distributed. The distance between artworks should be minimized, as if they are too widely apart then it is hardly focused and the artistic characters will be ruined.

Hope that the above listed points do help you in arranging arts in your home and office. For further information you may also contact me.

Thank you.
