Hi,
This is my first guide, but I will try to amke it as professional as possible.
Over the past year, I have amassed a DVD collection nearing 1000 individual DVDs, and I did so for about $2-$4 per DVD. I began by searching on eBay for wholesale lots of DVDs that I thought I could resell online, or else where for a profit, but I found myself, keeping a large number of them. I would generally resell enough to cover the cost of their purchase, and keep the ones I wanted.
I found that most DVD wholesale lots on eBay are poor selections of no-name, non-major movies. That is a HUGE let down. But with careful searching, you can weed out the drop shippers who have no idea what DVDs are in their "great asortment", and find sellers selling their personal DVD collections. Even better is when you find a seller who has listed every DVD in the lot.
Another thing to consider when buying wholesale lots of DVDs on eBay, is to consider the total price (bid + shipping) and figure the average price per DVD. I would say you found a great deal for if the price per DVD is under $5. Also, generally I find more instances of Fee Avoidance (over chare for shipping) when searching wholesale DVD lots. A great way to handle the frustration of being over charged for shipping is to simply ask the buyer for a cheaper shipping option, such as USPS Media Mail, Or Parcel Post as opposed to Priority Mail service. Most times sellers who are honest (thats most of them I've found), will give you a cheaper shipping qoute just for asking. It never hurts to ask!
I hope this guide was helpful, and if you are a movie junky like me, this is the perfect way to amass a HUGE amount of DVDs for a low low price, and have a gret time doing it on eBay.
