Have you ever purchased an advertising or lighted beer sign only to get it home and realize its filthy dirty? And how many of these signs came from pool halls or bars that are constantly filled with cigarette smoke? You wonder, how am I ever going to get this clean?
Well let me tell you the secret I have found for removing these ugly, brownish yellow stains from those signs. First you will want to use the obvious, warm water and soap. DO NOT submerse the sign in water as this will damage the electrical components of the sign. Just use a damp towel to wash the exterior of the sign. This will remove all the loose particles of dirt and dust. Once you have given it a nice warm bath, be sure to either towel dry it or let it air dry. I prefer to use a towel as I'm impatient. Secondly, this is the secret part, use finger nail polish remover to remove those ugly cigarette and tar stains. That's right, the same finger nail polish remover your wife uses. Don't use too much or you might remove some of the paint (colored areas) as well. Be careful around these areas. Just get a few cotton balls or paper towels and you're set. Put a little elbow grease behind the scrubbing and you're sign will look almost new. Once you've finished removing the stains, give it one more warm bath, and a thorough drying; your sign is ready to go. Just plug it in and enjoy!
