We have  been getting a lot of questions about wideband o2 meters lately and we thought it would be best to write a guide explaining the features of the widebands we carry to make it easy for everyone.

The two major Wideband Brands we carry are Innovate and AEM. Both have their benefits.

INNOVATE

The innovate widebands have come a long way over the past couple years. They have compact cases that hold the brain, and stylish digital displays that fit in standard 52mm gauge pods. We sell 2 different Innovate Widebands:

Innovate LC-1 w/ DB Gauge Kit

This wideband features a simple digital display without any decoration. It is a black face gauge with either a blue or a red digital display. This wideband is listed for $289.00 making it a mid range priced wideband with high end performance. It comes with a bosch style o2 sensor, logging software, logging cable, weld in bung, and everything required to install and monitor air fuel ratio. The logging cable and software allows you to hook the wideband up to your laptop and record the air fuel ratio for playback and closer examination.

Innovate LC-1 w/ XD-16 Gauge Kit

This wideband is the next step up from the LC-1 with DB Gauge Kit. This wideband comes with the same high end LC-1 wideband unit, and a customizable display gauge. This gauge is also a 52mm standard sized gauge, but this gauge has replaceable faces that allow you to change colors and even what the gauge reads. This gauge is capable of being customized to display any 0-5v display such as boost, intake air temperature, coolant temp, oil temp, oil pressure, etc. The XD-16 comes with the capability to add additional gauges together and display multiple readings at once with a consistant similar gauge style. This setup is perfect for if you want to setup the wideband, then add additional gauges to display and log additional readings like boost, temp, etc. This wideband also comes with the industry leading logging software and cable setup from innovate.

AEM

AEM Uego Wideband O2 System

The AEM Wideband is a very popular wideband in the industry and has been around for a long time. It is easy to install and simple to operate. At $254.00 it is one of the most affordable options. This wideband also uses a bosch style o2 sensor like the innovate, but the actual meter reads a smaller voltage range than the Innovate. That means that the innovate will read and display futher in the lean and rich direction than the aem. The aem will max out earlier in either direction. The AEM also does not come with logging software or a cable. In fact, its not even an option for an additonal purchase, aem does not make one. This wideband is perfect for the person who just wants to display an accurate AFR without all the bells and wistles

If you want a high end wideband with all the bells and whistles and logging software get an innovate, if you want a simple to install easy to read bare bones wideband, get the AEM. They are both very good at what they do, its just a matter of what you want from a wideband.
