So now it comes to the next question: How do I choose TPMS?

There are basically 2 types of TPMS: direct and indrect.
The major difference is that direct TPMS has sensors installed at the air valve of each tire. Sensors report pressure value to the receiver and drivers can see it from the display.
Drivers can preset pressure standard so that if the value is lower than the standard, they will be warned. No matter how many tires are underinflated, direct TPMS can precisely report the value.

Indirect TPMS compares the rotating speed of all tires; if 1 of them is at low pressure, drivers receive warning. However, if more than 1 or 2 tires are underinflated simultaneously, drivers may not be warned because there are more low pressured tires than normal ones and the speed of problematic tires is regarded "normal". Therefore, direct TPMS is more favorable than indirect oens.

When choosing TPMS, there are certain things you should pay attention to:

1. Frecuency: TPMS with 433.92 MHZ is bascially workable in most part of the world. But in   some places, different frequency is required. Make sure the one    you plan to buy can function in where you live.

2. Non-stop Detecting System: Sensors must always monitor tire pressure. In best practice, sensors should sample pressure value every 3 seconds without stopping.

3. Non-stop Data Report: Pressure value sampled by sensors must be reported to the receiver without stopping either.

4. Battery operating temperature: Usually TPMS uses lithium battries as source of power. Common lithium battries explode in high temperature and can't provide power in low temperature. Only military-grade batteirs can ensure safety.

5. Valve Specification and Sensor Specification: Generally speaking valves of passenger cars have standard spcification, so sensors can be installed. However, there might be expections. Make sure both specifications are compatible.

6. Displays with 2 Colors Indication: Laws in most countries require that TPMS displays must have more than just 1 color indication. Warnings must be indicated in bright red to catch the attention of drivers to ensure safety.

7. Clear installation instruction: Some drivers have auto service stations install TPMS for them; some prefer to do it themselves. Either way a clear, easy to understand and step-by-step instruction is a must.

8. Make sure you buy from reliable TPMS suppliers: Some suppliers are unable to make TPMS which sample pressure value non-stopplingly, so they might use previously recorded data to deceive buyers. The misleading information may put drivers in jeopardy.
