Dear kleerl--Is there a possibliity that you would consider a lower price if there is not enough interest? I am not in the financial position at this time although I need to gather a work wardrobe. I think this dress may work well for me. I understand, if you are not able. Thank you for the consideration.
I understand that money is VERY tight while dress is important to the success of your new business. I previously addressed buying St. John Knits off line: now I will advise on buying them on Ebay. You cannot afford mistakes so either pay more to a POWER SELLER for the exact items that you want OR take the time and VERY carefully follow the instructions that follow:
1. Go to Ebay's ADVANCED SEARCH.
2. Enter ST. JOHN -BAY
3. Enter .09 to $30.00 under price
Watch for a black SANTANA KNIT skirt, tank top, and jacket--all separate listings--in 2 sizes under your ideal size 6 (2&4?) and 1 size over (8). Vintage runs smaller so probably stick with 4,6,& 8.
I recommend black for your first 3 piece suit primarily because the colors will match; Santana so the knits will match. Blues, whites and reds are especially difficult to match, as are all colors. Dye lots, dry cleaning and age all affect colors.
Take your time. WATCH all items that match your criteria, but DO NOT BID until 15 seconds from end of listing, then bid your top price plus a couple of dollars: $33.55 or so. You will buy an entire suit for around $100.00, approximately $8.99 flat rate postage per piece, then $15 or so for having it blocked to fit perfectly.
For your next COLORED suit, do the same ADVANCED SEARCH except enter ST JOHN SKIRT SUIT -BAY and up the maximum to $60. You want the SELLER to have matched the jacket and skirt, plus you will save on postage.
The reason for the space then -BAY is to eliminate St John Bay, the Penny brand from your search results. Be very careful since sometimes a piece will get through.
I hope this has been helpful. Good luck with your business AND DRESSING the part. Your look is important and St. John Knits will be perfect for your business field.
