Everyone strives for what they believe is The Perfect Cup Of Coffee. Perfection in coffee means different things to different people.   Like appreciation of art,  or music or food it comes down to individual preferences and taste.

Master brewer Roger Sheppherd has this to say "If you believe the taste matches the promise of the aroma, then you have achieved the perfect cup."

The essentials to brewing a great cup of coffee are the following steps:

1.  Make sure you are using clean, fresh water every time.

2.  Clean your brewing equipment regularly, and if you equipment is equipped with a filter, change  regularly.

3.  Select the correct grind for you machine.  A fine grind is best for filter coffee.  Always use unbleached filters.

4.  Don't rely on long holding times for brewed coffee. Quality and taste will deterioate after 30 (thirty) minuets plus.

5.  Store ground coffee in a vacuum tight container, some reccommend the fridge (not the freezer, I have had bad experience with frozen coffee), for an optimun time of two weeks.  It is best to grind enough for (2) two or (3) three days usage only.  Obviously freshly  ground coffee taste the best. Roasted beans will stay fresh for (4) four to (5) five weeks if stored in a similar container.

I believe if you buy the best equipment you can afford and then experiment with the coffee beans you will find that perfect cup for you.

Once found you can enjoy other pleasure in life like reading a good book, looking at fine art or just lying back and relaxing in your favorite chair.
