Marketing hype aside the Nike Free is a remarkable shoe that has great ideas behind it. The downside to this shoe is that it has been over marketed to the average consumer. Going from no barefoot training to having the Free as your everyday shoe is like going from bench pressing 50 pounds to suddenly deciding you are ready for 300. The Free can be used correctly if the wearer gradually gets used to the strain of having no support. For at least a month there should be absolutly no running. The Free will begin to awaken lazy tendons and foot muscles, providing them with some much needed work. Once a month had passed by jog twice a week for 2 weeks. This should be on a soft surface like grass or a trail (my favorite are golf courses). Now light runs can be added, be careful and listen to your body. THE NIKE FREE IS NOT AN EVERYDAY TRAINING SHOE! It cannot and should not be used everyday until the user has been traing barefoot for nearly 2 years. Hopefully through careful addition of the free to a training regime you will be able to strengthen your body and improve your overall speed. I am a running shoe store employee and would be happy to answer any questions on the Free or any other running related questions. My username is dynastyincorporated and my email is desilvacc@aol.com. I appreciate you taking the time to read my guide, I love my Frees, I've written because I have seen far to many people injured as a result of this innovative shoe.
