Some Basics of Crystal Healing

We don't claim that it is easy to become a person whose profession it is to work with Crystals, Minerals, Gemstones and other similar entities to help Adults, Children, Animals, Gardens, etc. to become healthy, well, happy, in touch with abundance, but it is possible and not exceedingly difficult if that is your sincere goal.

This Guide is a short reference on how to start thinking and acting on this wish so that you can take steps toward this desire.  We sincerely hope it helps you make this wish become a reality. We are the Headmasters (and lead instructors at) the Opus Arts Institute for Crystal Healing Research and Education. We hope that it is similar to other schools or Institutes.

We don't use the term "use crystals" or any variation of these words because we don't believe that humans "use" the crystals, but that we "work with" these sentient beings who are "Stone People" who have been on this planet so many eons longer than we have. They hold much wisdom and healing art. They readily offer it to us when we know how to slow down to hear them and work with them.  That is definitely our bias, shared by many others.  It is not a religion (we happen to be Jewish, but there are people of all religions and no religion who are healers who work with Light and Stones), rather it is of the Spirit.  This is important for you to appreciate.

Crystal Healing

There seem to be two types of people who want to work with Crystals and Gemstones professionally.

  One is the Professional with a working practice who already has a client base such as a masseur/masseuse, chiropractor, hairdresser, gardener, landscaper, cranioscacral practitioner, cosmetician, skin care professional, make-up artist or other service professional in any form of this kind of service field who is attracted to the beauty and power of the crystals.  Is this you? Perhaps you have been treated with crystals by a healer before, or perhaps you have a personal collection of beautiful crystals that "speak" to you and want to be worked with? Or you just know that it is time to include the beauty and wisdom of the crystals to expand the work that you can do for your clients, or perhaps a subset of the clients that you see, and you know that doing this will bring you new clients, as well. 

The second type of person who wants to work with Crystals and Gemstones professionally may or may not be working professionally in the kind of services listed above, they may be unemployed or they may be stock brokers, PR professionals, real estate agents, or lawyers. But the defining factor of this group is that each of them have received a calling or some sort of “knowing” that it is their time to work as Crystal Healers, as Light Workers. Is THIS you?  Do you want to work full time with Crystals and Gemstones to bring health, vitality, strength, happiness, abundance, ease, beauty and all good things including Spirit to a group of people who perhaps you don't yet know who will become your clients. 

These two groups are not very different in many ways, but as Headmasters of an Institute like Opus Arts Institute for Crystal Healing Research and Education that grants certifications to people in both groups, we know that people in these two groups have different needs as well as some similar needs in studying to work with Crystals.

Both groups need to learn many of the same things about crystals:

Once the individual from either group (professional add-on track or Crystal Healer business track) has a grasp on these categories for approximately 200 stones (or knows about 50 by heart and has cataloged the information for another 150 in a very easily accessible way so that they can find this information during a session if need be for example, then they are ready to move on to their own track.)

Each Track Learns Different Subjects, Too

For every person, the track is highly personal. For most people on the Professional track, the next step is learning to build and then building a gemstone auxiliary tool kit, learning to use it, learning the various ways to access the gemstone knowledge for people, homes, gardens, etc, and deciding which way(s) they want to do this, practicing a few ways to make sure of this, having some advanced practice with the way or ways they have decided to incorporate Gemstone therapy into their own practice with the initial tools they have chosen, taking a class or field trip to know the possibilities of other tools at their disposal when they are ready (and knowing how to use them, at least at an early level), developing ways to advertise and explain this new “adventure” in their practice to their clients and/or bring in new clients, ways to help clients use these tools at home if the practitioner wants to avail their clients of this important potential, and a review of the symptoms and the gems that help them. With that, and whatever other help the Practitioner/student would like, she/he is very ready to work with the gemstones in their practice. We often find that in this and very definitely in the next category we have at least one and often more sessions on trusting your intuition, your ability to sense auras, and your ability to Know what people have told you that you don't know. Those sessions are very wonderful sessions. These sessions are totally unique depending on the specific person and their situations.

For the person who is called to become a Crystal Healer, the first step is again the same list as above for at least as many stones and minerals. As the student is learning, they usually are acquiring these stones either as simple tumble stones and in some cases as spheres, clusters, cathedrals, druzes, wands and points. Ebay is a wonderful place to look for excellent prices and original specimens of various either hard or easy to find Gemstones in bead and other forms. Often the other on-line sites carry a thousand of the same thing where eBay sellers may have a vintage collection where they are selling a one of a kind druzy or cluster or sphere at reasonable prices. So when the student starts to know what they are looking for, we often suggest that they look on eBay as they build their collection. We do. Watch for things like postage and make sure that they specify that the photo is definitely what you are getting. But if you find a good dealer, it can be a true treasure. We have and they are!

Beyond building their working and learning specimen collection, the Crystal Healer-in-the-making is learning to use and trust their intuition and see auras. Again, this series of exercises is set up specifically for the person that is working because it is a highly personal learning experience. Incidentally, there are many stories about the Native Americans who were present on the banks of oceans where the white men came to the New World. It was said that only the Medicine or Spiritual men could actually see the boats that had arrived since the vast majority of the population had nothing to compare it to and no way to understand what they were seeing, so they just saw clouds, not sails and boats. The Spiritual Men and Women were more sophisticated at understanding things that they didn't have references for, so they saw the boats and understood them. For over a month they took the men and women to the shoreline and explained the presence of the boats to the others until they finally made out the boats. Training people to be Crystal Healers and understand their intuitive abilities and their abilities to sense auras is much like this. It is not a new skill usually, they just don't know how to recognize that they have this skill or what they are actually doing all the time until they become sensitized to it over some time. It happens for various people more or less quickly. It doesn't matter how fast or slowly it happens. It is there, and it will happen.

The developing Crystal Healer in our program will have a section on healing jewelry. This teaches them about how to combine stones, how they work together, how they work with the body's electromagnetic energy, and what it feels and looks like when a necklace or bracelet for example “works” for a client. We also give the trainee a chance to work at our booth where we meet and greet people from all walks of life and explain Crystal Healing, where we find points and jewelry and wands and fidgets and earrings and books and key chains and tumble stones for people as sophisticated or new to the subject as the continuum allows. It allows all of us to keep on our toes, and for the new or trainee practitioner to develop a sense of what is wanted and needed in a real live situation. It is a wonderful and loving place to be. We also suggest that new and experienced Crystal Healers put some of their jewelry on eBay as it reaches out to people who may need it and you never know who it may touch. 

The people training to build businesses as Crystal Healers need to build some business skills as well. Again this is more true for some than for others. Some of our students are quite adroit as business professionals and just need some specifics to support them on their way and it is only one review class and we are done. Others have never been entrepreneurial at all and have no idea whatsoever about how to build a client base, find an appropriate office, keep records, get the appropriate licenses, and all of the bits and pieces large and small that go into building a small service business. We are lucky that not only do we know this, we are experts at this and we have other experts willing to share their expertise with our students to help them to get on their feet. Students are able to start their business lives with Opus Arts, Inc. if they choose to, and not deal with every business dealing from the start to concentrate on building THEIR client base and knowledge, but it is still a good idea to work on the business side so that this is not a shock but part of the work that is understood easily as the student breaks away into their own practice eventually.

Distance Learning for Crystal Healing

At the Opus Arts Institute for Crystal Healing Research and Education, we try to include a great deal of flexibility into our model for the maximum amount of success. We even train people from around the country, and even around the world (in English only, please :) using distance learning and specifically designed weekend or week condensed well planned course work in our Virginia location once or twice during the course of the training. It is not for everyone, and we must have very honest talks during the admissions process to see if it will work, but we are willing to do whatever it takes if you are. We want the person who feels called to be a Crystal Healer to have every advantage so that people in the world who want excellence in this type of healing can get this kind of healing in an excellent and positive manner.
